Dutee Chand’s BMW Hit by Truck in Cuttack, Sprinter Unhurt

Cuttack: Renowned sprinter Dutee Chand narrowly escaped injury when a truck reportedly collided with her BMW near OMP Square in Cuttack. The incident occurred while she was traveling to Bhubaneswar from Jajpur. The collision caused significant damage to her vehicle.

Following the crash, the truck driver attempted to flee the scene. However, Dutee pursued the vehicle and managed to intercept it near the Kathajori Bridge. She promptly informed the police, leading officers from Madhupatna Police Station to detain the driver for questioning.

Recounting the incident, Dutee said, “The truck driver started honking aggressively at us near OMP Square. Even after we gave way, he deliberately hit our car and tried to escape. I chased him down near Kathajori Bridge and called the police.”

The sprinter, who was accompanied by a friend, also alleged that the truck driver hurled abuses and behaved inappropriately during the altercation.

The police are investigating the incident and questioning the truck driver to ascertain further details.
