Dumper Blocks Railway Track in Keonjhar
Keonjhar: A tragic incident occurred in Keonjhar district of Odisha today when a dumper skidded off the road and fell into a 50-foot gorge, blocking the railway track and disrupting train services.
The dumper, with registration number OD09 P9981, veered off the road and landed in the gorge near Gurubeda Chhaka in Joda, obstructing the nearby railway track.
Upon receiving the distress call, local fire services and railway officials swiftly reached the site to conduct a rescue operation. The front of the heavy vehicle was severely damaged in the mishap.
The rescue team used a gas cutter to extricate the driver, identified as Sanjay Yadav from Jharkhand, who was found in critical condition. Yadav sustained severe injuries, including broken legs, and was immediately taken to Joda Community Health Centre for treatment.
As the investigation continues into the cause of the accident, efforts are underway to remove the dumper from the track and restore train services on the Banspani-Jaroli route, which has been affected due to the blockage.
