Drunk youth breaks Mahatma Gandhi’s idol

Nabarangpur: A drunk youth created a high voltage drama under the influence of alcohol. He allegedly broke the idol of Mahatma Gandhi in the ward number 16 of Nabarangpur city last night.

According to information, the drunkard allegedly pelted stones at first on the idol. Then he took a boulder and threw it on the idol of Mahatma Gandhi. When people tried to stop him, he threw stones at them.

The locals have criticised the incident and demand strict punishment for the drunkard. Members of the Shahid Smruti Sansad has staged a protest and sat on dharna surrounding the idol.
