Doordarshan to Launch Santali News Bulletin Soon

Mayurbhanj: Doordarshan is set to introduce a Santali news bulletin, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw announced during a public meeting in Bangiriposhi, Mayurbhanj district.

The minister confirmed that the Santali news bulletin will be telecast starting next week. He noted that President Droupadi Murmu expressed keen interest in promoting news in the Santali language, a move expected to empower the tribal community and enhance regional inclusivity.

Currently, Kalinga TV is the only Odia news channel broadcasting news in Santali. The introduction of the Santali bulletin by Doordarshan marks a significant step in expanding access to information for Santali-speaking audiences.
