Documents lost in Fire in SBI in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, 10-11-2018: A massive fire broke out on the third floor of State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Bapuji Nagar here during the early hours of the day. While, no human casualties have been reported yet as the bank was closed, officials have informed that several important documents have been gutted.
Locals and the security guard of the building spotted smoke billowing from the third floor of the building at around 5 am in the morning following which they informed the fire department.
According to reports, two units of fire brigade including 12 officials rushed to the spot after getting information and managed to douse the flames.
As per sources, 90 per cent of the floor, which was a record room, has been destroyed in the fire and along with that important documents including customer records, cheques and Aadhar cards have got damaged as well. The exact amount of property damaged will be established after a detailed assessment.
