Do not lend ears to rumours on KALIA: CM

Surjit kumar Dhal, Bhubaneswar,MAR 3: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Saturday urged the people not to lend their ears to any kind of rumours on the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme launched by his government.
He assured the people, while addressing gatherings at Jajpur and Bhadrak during his day-long visit to the two districts to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a slew of development projects, that they need not believe the rumour campaign of the detractors of the scheme that it will be scrapped soon.
“The scheme will continue and no beneficiary has to return the assistance he or she receive,” Patnaik said adding, no one can stop the scheme as it is the right of the farmers.
“The money belongs to the people for use in farming activities he said.
Patnaik also praised the Mission Shakti programme saying that the women are doing a lot of good work.
“Keeping their work in view, financial assistance is being provided without any interest,” he said.
Patnaik also reiterated his resolve to secure 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies.
“My efforts in this regard will contine,” he asserted.
