Diwali in twin cities: Violation of court directions

Diwali was celebrated with much enthusiasm in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack but saw a large of violations of the Apex Court directions regarding bursting of crackers.

Police have registered a total of 370 cases of violations .Fines were imposed on the spot in 240 cases.130 cases have been filed in the court of law. Several incidents of burning of property and injury to people happened across the state due to carelessness in bursting crackers.
