Distribution of free sanitary pads ordered in flood-affected districts

Bhubaneswar, Aug 22(Reporters Today Bureau): The Collectors of all flood-affected districts in state have been ordered to distribute sanitary/ hygienic kits to women/girls in the marooned areas.

Joint Special Relief Commissioner Padmanav Behera in a letter to the respective Collectors stated  that proper medical care along with sanitation measures is essential for women/girls who are marooned due to flood.

In view of this, he requested the Collectors to instruct respective CDMOs to procure sanitary/ hygienic kits as emergency sanitation measures (emergent relief) and distribute them to women/girls in the marooned areas.

The cost of the sanitary/ hygienic kit shall be borne by the SRC out of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the letter added.
