Diarrhoea on the rise in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is in action mode after diarrhoea rapidly spread in the capital city. Officials raided several hotels and eateries here.
The food safety officials conducted quality checks and surprise visits at several hotels and fast food shop and fined those found to be violating the guidelines.
During the surprise visits in several eateries near a private hospital here, stale food was found stocked. Similarly, they were also found to be using harmful chemicals.
BMC also charged Rs 2000 fines on several hotels for cooking in unhygienic conditions. The hotels were strictly urged to obey the guidelines.
Henceforth, regular checks will be conducted in hotels. On June 16 alone over Rs 10,000 have been fined. Strict action will be taken against those found to be violating.
