Dharmendra Pradhan to inaugurate ICT, Mumbai campus at Bhubaneswar

Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the Academic Session of the 1^st Batch ICT Mumbai – IndianOil Odisha Campus, Bhubaneswar. A unique initiative has been taken to set up Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai campus at Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with IndianOil. In this regard, MoU between IndianOil and Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai was signed at Bhubaneswar on 16^th November 2017, in the presence of Hon’ble Minister, MoP&NG & SD&E.

ICT-IOC Bhubaneswar campus was inaugurated by Hon’ble President of India (through remote link from IIT Bhubaneswar) on 18^th March 2018 in the august presence of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. Founded in 1933 as University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) of the University of Mumbai, it was granted the deemed university status and renamed as the Institute of Chemical Technology. ICT is a premiere institute for Chemical Technology; which is highly sought after and ranked 10^th amongst engineering colleges in the recently announced NIRF 2018. It has produced 19 Padma Awardees and 500 entrepreneurs. ICT IOC Odisha is the 2^nd campus of this institute in Country; which became a reality due to the untiring efforts of Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. The objective of IOC-ICT partnership is to extend peer expertise of ICT, Mumbai in the field of Chemical Science & Engineering and Technology by providing best-in-class Academic and Research facilities in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This institute will ensure improved quality and industry relevance in curricula development in the field of Chemical Engineering, Petrochemicals, Textiles, Polymers, Foods, Pharmaceuticals, Energy etc. The institute will offer 5-year Integrated M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering, Executive M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering for Working Professionals and PhD Programmes. Academic session of the 1^st batch of ICT IOC Odisha will inaugurated on 7^th September 2018 ; it pertinent to mention that be actual academic session begins in less than six months’ time period.

The institute will also set up ‘Centres of Excellence’ for industry-relevant research in the following areas:
