Darshan Suspended at Srimandir for 4 Hours on July 24

Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has issued an important update for devotees planning to visit on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

On this day, corresponding with the sacred occasion of Shravan Krushna Amavasya, the revered Chitalagi Niti will be performed for the presiding deities.

In accordance with this ritual, public darshan will remain suspended for approximately four hours, beginning after the completion of the first Bhog Mandap offering. The suspension will take effect from 2:30 PM and continue until 6:30 PM. The temple administration has requested that devotees cooperate and plan their visit accordingly.

The Chitalagi Niti, a significant ceremonial tradition, symbolises the adornment of divine headgear for the deities and is observed with utmost sanctity. This annual ritual underscores the deep cultural and spiritual heritage rooted in the Jagannath Temple’s traditions.
