Darshan at Gundicha Temple Suspended Tonight for Rituals

Puri: The darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra at the Gundicha Temple in Puri will remain suspended for five hours tonight due to the sacred Banakalagi rituals of the deities.
According to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the temple doors will be closed to the public from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, during which no devotees will be allowed to have darshan.
“In view of the Banakalagi rituals scheduled for June 30, 2025 (Monday), corresponding to Ashadha Shukla Chaturthi with Panchami Tithi, darshan of the deities will remain suspended from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM after the second Bhoga Mandap Puja,” the SJTA stated in an official notice.
The rituals mark an important part of the annual Rath Yatra festivities. The deities were ceremoniously escorted to the Adapa Mandap inside the Gundicha Temple last night, after completing their journey from the chariots.
Devotees are advised to plan their visit accordingly and respect the sanctity of the rituals.
