Dalmia Cement empowers Ajeet and Deeya Bajaj to scale Mt. Vinson in Antarctica

Dalmia Cement, with its mission to foster India’s best sport talenthas empowered the Gurgaon based father and daughter duo Ajeet and Deeya Bajaj for their next mountain climbing expedition to Mt. Vinson in Antarctica in December this year.

The company has had a continued association with Indian sports, and has supportedvarious sports initiatives. The Group believes in a philosophy to harness and build the power of professional sports so as to support the development of healthy communities.

Mahendra Singhi, Managing Director and CEO, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Group said, “Healthy communities make a healthy nation. India is at a cusp where the youth are making the nation proud at different platforms across the globe. It is our responsibility to be able to encourage the youth for sports.’

Ahead of their leaving Ajeet said, “We are excited about our next expedition and thankful to Dalmia Cement for supporting us. We hope that both of us can be an inspiration for every Indian to work together and follow their dreams.”

Notably, on May 16, 2018, Ajeet and Deeya became the first Indian daughter-father team in the world to climb Mt. Everest from the North side.

The duo unfurled the Tricolor atop Mt. Everest after climbing 8,848 meters in a month’s time. Ajeet also became the first Indian to ski to the North Pole and the South Pole within a year in 2006-2007.
