Cuttack: Youth thrashed to death

Cuttack: In a shocking incident, a youth was allegedly thrashed to death in Cuttack district of Odisha yesterday night. The incident has been suspected to have occurred in the wee hours of Friday. The incident took place in the Godisahi Police outpost jurisdiction under ​​Baranga police station limits.

The identity of the deceased youth is yet to be ascertained.

As per reports, it has been suspected that the youth was thrashed to death yesterday night. Later, his vehicle was burnt. The miscreants then threw him into a bush on the roadside.

Reportedly, the locals saw a vehicle burning on the Puri Canal road near Godisahi Police outpost under Baranga police station limits today morning and the dead body of the youth lying on the roadside.

The youth’s dead body was lying in a pool of blood with serious injuries on his head and body. a wooden pole was also spotted near the body. So, it has been suspected that the youth was thrashed to death by the pole.

It is believed that the incident took place in the early hours of today. The reason for the murder is unclear.

After witnessing the body and the charred vehicle the locals informed police. On receiving the information, the Godisahi Outpost police reached the spot and started an investigation. Further probe of the matter is underway.
