Curfew in Baleswar Extended Till Today Midnight
Baleswar: The Baleswar district administration has extended the curfew in areas under the Baleswar municipality until midnight on June 20. However, there will be a relaxation period from 7 am to 11 am, during which commercial activities are allowed.
During the curfew hours, no person is permitted to leave their homes or move on foot, by vehicle, or travel in any public place, except for emergency medical aid. As a precautionary measure, schools, Anganwadi centres, and colleges within these areas will remain closed until June 21.
The collector’s office in Baleswar has communicated this order via social media, stating: “Curfew in the areas under Baleswar municipality has been extended till 20.06.2024 midnight with relaxation for the general public from 7 am to 11 am to meet their daily needs. During this period all commercial establishments are allowed to be opened. All are requested to co-operate.”
Meanwhile, residents have been expressing concerns about slow internet and difficulties in day-to-day activities. In a previous announcement, the curfew was set to continue until midnight on June 19. However, the administration decided today to extend the curfew by a day.
Police detained 30 individuals for violating the curfew regulations in the district after a confrontation between two groups over an alleged animal slaughter. A total of 34 people involved in the group clash were arrested and taken to court.
