Crime Rates Rise in Bhubaneswar-Cuttack: Police Commissioner
Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Crime rates in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have increased this year compared to 2023, according to Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh.
As per data, 20,019 cases have been registered in 2024, up from 17,765 cases last year. While crimes in Cuttack, including murder, rape, and violence, have remained steady, disputes have seen a rise. Notably, crimes against women in Bhubaneswar have decreased.
By November 2024, Bhubaneswar reported 14,411 cases, compared to 10,873 cases by November 2023. Singh emphasized the need for police personnel to remain cordial and approachable to complainants.
