Covid Crosses 7000 mark in India

New Delhi: The number of Covid infected people in the country has increased once again. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry, a total of 7400 active cases have been registered in India.
People have been advised not to go to crowded places and health workers have been asked to wear masks. The Central Government has advised people to take precautions against corona. If any symptoms are seen, they have been asked to get tested immediately.
2109 patients have been confirmed in Kerala and more than 1437 have been infected in Gujarat. Delhi has 672 cases, Maharashtra 613, Tamil Nadu 232, West Bengal 747, Chhattisgarh 50, Andhra Pradesh 102, Rajasthan 180, Karnataka 527, Uttar Pradesh 248. However, 110 cases have decreased in the last 24 hours. So far, 10,976 people have recovered. A total of 78 people have died of corona in the country.
According to the report, the deceased also had type-1 respiratory failure, acute encephalopathy and Covid pneumonia. Out of these, the maximum number of cases have been reported from Kerala and Gujarat.
*Kerala (3 deaths) – (1) 83-year-old Male with CAD -S/P CABG decompensated HF, LV Dysfunction, (2) 67-year-old Male with renal shut down, Post renal transplant, (3) 61-year-old Male with Type 2 DM, Systemic Hypertension.
*Maharashtra (4 deaths) – (1) 79-year-old Male with DM, HTN, (2) 85-year-old Male with Uremic Encephalopathy secondary to Acute Kidney Injury with IHD, old PTB with Heart failure secondary to PTCA, (3) 55-year-old Male with COVID-19 positive, bacterial pneumonia, with known metastatic ca of anal canal/cabm/RVD on ART, (4) 34-year-old Male with Covid-19 positive with B/L bronchopneumonia with pulmonary oedema with severe LV dysfunction
*Rajasthan (1 death) – 70 year old female with bilateral pneumonia
*Tamil Nadu (1 death)- 73-year-old man with past history of systemic hypertension, old and recurrent Cebrovascular accident, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, Subarachnoid hemorrhage, Recurrent CVA, Viral encephalitis, Acute kidney injury, Coronary Artery Disease.
The biggest problem with the JN.1 variant is that it spreads very quickly between people. It has an additional mutation that helps it enter cells and weaken the immune system. Many doctors have said that the JN.1 variant is not that dangerous and people do not need to panic.
