Country Liquor Seized from Tractor Tubes in Mayurbhanj

Baripada: In a unique smuggling attempt, police in Mayurbhanj district seized a large quantity of country liquor hidden inside tractor tubes on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, Baripada Town Police intercepted the illegal consignment near Krishnachandra Golei and arrested two individuals involved in the smuggling operation.

The accused have been identified as Santanu Dey, the vehicle driver from Khanda police station limits, and Samaya Murmu of Baliapal, Balasore district.

During the raid, police seized 30 tractor tubes filled with country liquor, highlighting a new tactic employed by smugglers to evade detection.

Authorities have intensified efforts to crack down on illegal liquor smuggling in the region as criminals continue to adapt their methods to bypass law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing.
