Contractor Shot Dead in Khordha

Khordha: Some unidentified goons allegedly killed a contractor in Tangi locality of Khordha district late last night. The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Rout, a resident of Radhamohanpur village.

As per reports, Ramesh along with two of his friends was returning home when two bike-borne miscreants intercepted the trio near Chandeswar Square under Tangi police limits. Thereafter, the miscreants fired three rounds of bullets at Ramesh leading to his death on the spot. The miscreants then fled from the place.

On being alerted, police rushed to the spot and seized the body. Subsequently it was sent for post-mortem. The exact motive behind the killing is yet to be known. A probe has been launched and the culprits will be apprehended soon, said the police. The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.
