Congress Leader Chandrasekhar Majhi Joins BJD

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Senior Congress leader Chandrasekhar Majhi, who resigned from the party yesterday, joined Biju Janata Dal today. The former legislator of Kotpad in Koraput district joined the ruling party at a special event held in the presence of several senior leaders, including Pratap Deb, Pranab Prakash Das, Subash Singh, Ramesh Majhi and Rabi Nanda.

Worth mentioning, Majhi’s uncle Sabudev had won the Assembly segment eight times. After his health condition started deteriorating, Congress chose Majhi for the seat. He had won Kotpad seat on Congress ticket in 2014 Assembly elections. However, he was defeated by BJD’s Padmini Dian in the 2019 elections.
