Comedian Papu’s Manager Held for Selling Liquor amid Lockdown

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): Amid Coronavirus lockdown, Khandagiri police arrested two persons including Ollywood actor and comedian Papu Pom Pom’s manager for illegally selling foreign liquor near Ruchika Market here in Odisha. The accused have been identified as Papu Pom Pom’s manager Pradipta Kumar Swain alias Gitu and Satyabrata Sahu.

Police also seized 96 bottles of foreign liquor, cash of Rs 4750, three mobile phones and Hyundai Creta vehicle in this connection. In June 2016, Swain was arrested along with popular Odia comedian Tatwa Prakash Satpathy aka Pappu Pom Pom on charges of casting couch and sexually exploiting a minor girl.

Police said that Swain was effectively using the SUV to sell liquor in the city amid the lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak. “Swain has stocked 17 litres of foreign liquor in his vehicle and was selling liquor at higher prices. Further investigation is on,” police said.
