Bhubaneswar: Odisha is set to experience a cold wave as the New Year begins, with night temperatures expected to drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, according to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.
Currently, night temperatures are above normal, but a gradual decline is anticipated over the next three days. However, daytime temperatures are expected to remain unchanged, with dry weather conditions prevailing across the state for the next week.
Dense fog is likely to persist in isolated areas of Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sambalpur districts. A yellow warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal, where visibility may fall below 200 meters due to thick fog.
Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling, as foggy conditions could affect road safety.
