Cold Wave Grips Odisha; Mercury Drops Below 10°C
Bhubaneswar: A severe cold wave continues to grip Odisha, with temperatures dropping significantly across the state. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, G. Udayagiri recorded the lowest temperature at 4.8°C, marking the coldest point in the state.
Other regions experiencing frigid conditions include Similiguda at 5.3°C, Rourkela at 5.7°C, Phulbani at 7°C, Jharsuguda at 7.1°C, Daringbadi at 7.5°C, Bhawanipatna at 7.8°C, Angul at 8°C, Kirei at 8.3°C, Chipilima at 8.4°C, Keonjhar at 8.8°C, Sundargarh at 9°C, Jagatsinghpur at 9.5°C, and both Koraput and Dhenkanal at 9.6°C.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded minimum temperatures of 10.9°C and 11°C, respectively.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 3-5°C over the next three days across Odisha. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is expected in some regions during this period, which may alleviate the intense cold conditions.
