CM urges tribal leaders for higher education to all boys, girls of their community
Sambalpur, Dec 22: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday urged the tribal leaders to ensure higher education for all in the community to bring them at par with others.
“My government is giving importance for the education of the tribal students of the state. More than six lakh students of tribal community are staying in the tribal hostels of the state,” the Chief Minister said addressing a meeting during his visit here.
He said these boys and girls would be torchbearer for the community and the entire society.
The chief Minister was in Kolabira under Jharsuguda constituency today to inaugurate six
projects and also lay foundation stones for 14 others.
The total cost of the projects amounts Rs. 462 crores, official sources in Jharsuguda said.
Patnaik said that the priority of his government is for the development of the common people and the region as a whole.
“Jharsuguda has undergone sea change during last few years and many more things are to be done since development has no end,” Patnaik said the gathering.
The chief Minister also attended the ‘Gond Mahasabha’ organized by the All India Gondwana Gond Samaj in memory of Saheed Karunakar Singh Naik.
On this occasion Patnaik mentioned the contributions of this freedom fighter during the freedom movement against British.
