CM Patnaik focus on green tech for upcoming steel plants in state

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik now on a week-long tour to Japan,
visited the Kimitsu Steel Works of Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC).
Focusing more on green technologies which will good for environment, CM Naveen Patnaik discusses with Kimitsu Steel Works on the use of green technology for the company’s upcoming steel plants in Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts.
The NSC plant was established on land reclaimed from the sea and the unit uses environmentally sustainable green technologies.
Apart from the Chief Minister, a delegation of the senior-level state officials also visited the Kimitsu plant. There, the officials learned about the latest technologies and processes that the plant uses to produce high quality metal.

“Patnaik appreciates the plant and discussed the use of similar green technologies for the plants coming up in Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts (of Odisha),” the CMO release said.
The proposed plants will also focus on specialised steel products which will enable downstream industries in Odisha, it said, adding, “The state delegation’s visit to the Kimitsu Steel Works provided an opportunity for officials to learn about the latest technologies and processes used by the company in the production of the metal.”
“I am happy to witness the environment-friendly steps taken by the company during my visit to the plant. The company is taking significant measures in steel production by using green technology,” Naveen said in an Instagram post.
