CM Naveen Praises Police & ODRAF
Bhubaneswar (Surjit Kumar Dhal): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today praised the police force for its tremendous effort in enforcing the lockdown to fight against COVID-19.
“I would like to appreciate all of you for the hard work by your teams has put in the lockdown for creating awareness amongst people. I must mention here that there was so much restrain and dignified conduct in the whole process. People at large saw a ‘human face’ in police actions,” Naveen said. “My appeal for ‘zero walking inside Odisha’ for interstate migrants was implemented in letter and spirit because of systematic and coordinated hard work,” Naveen added.
The CM also appreciated the “good work” done by Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force and Odisha Fire Service in relief and restoration operations in neighbouring West Bengal after cyclone Amphan. “I would like to mention here that despite the threat of Coronavirus, our ODRAF and Fire Services personnel faced the situation boldly and helped people in distress in Kolkata. Your service will be an inspiration for others and the entire country has appreciated the work done,” the CM said.
He also asked the Director General of Police to try and rationalize the available manpower. “I would like the DGP to prepare an action plan to make more and more manpower available at the police station level. This may be done within a fortnight with proper planning,” he said.
