CM Mohan Majhi joins state-level Yoga Day at Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi participated in the state-level International Yoga Day celebration program held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Friday. Addressing the gathering, the CM emphasized that yoga is an inseparable part of India’s rich cultural heritage and brings focus, stability, and relieves stress.
Highlighting significance of Yoga, the CM urged everyone of all age groups to do yoga daily for a better life, saying “Everything is possible through yoga” he also announced that steps will be taken to incorporate yoga education in schools across the state.
The said yoga program aimed to promote holistic health and wellness.
The event witnessed the presence of Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, BJP State President Manmohan Samal, and Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj among other dignitaries. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and several top bureaucrats also joined the mass yoga session.
International Yoga Day has been observed worldwide since 2015 after PM Modi’s proposal at the UN on September 27, 2014. Supported by 175 nations, June 21 marks a global call for wellness through yoga.
