CM Mohan Flags Off Double Decker Buses

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today flagged-off the much awaited Double decker buses and Hop-On Hop-Off buses at the Mo Nus Depot in Gadakana in Bhubaneswar.

The Chief Minister flagged-off five Double decker buses alomg with 10 Hop-On Hop-Off buses. He also launched the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA) e-bus services. A total of 25 e-busses will be used by the SJTA in Puri.

Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Bhubaneswar Ekamra MLA Babu Singh along with other guests and officials attended the flagging off ceremony.

Apart from flagging-off the Double decker and Hop-On Hop-Off buses, the Odisha CM along with other guests also travelled in one of the Double Decker buses till Janata Maidan.

All these bus services will be used during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas event, which is slated to begin from tomorrow and will continue till January 10, said sources adding that the participants of the event will be ferried in the buses.

The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) will manage all these electric buses and is expected to introduce more such busses in different cities of the state like Bhubaeswar, Cuttack, Puri and Berhampur.
