CM Majhi Flags Off ‘Vikas Vahan’ to Mark One Year of BJP Government in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Marking the completion of one year of the BJP-led government in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday flagged off the ‘Vikas Vahan’ — a state-wide outreach initiative aimed at connecting with citizens and showcasing the government’s achievements and welfare schemes.
The specially designed vehicle will traverse every block and remote region across the state, spreading awareness about key programmes such as the PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and Subhadra Yojana. It will also facilitate public interactions through ‘chaupals’ and enable on-the-spot beneficiary registration for various flagship schemes.
Speaking at the flag-off event in Bhubaneswar, CM Majhi described the past year as a time of both challenge and transformation for the state. “This one year was a test of our commitment. Despite facing many social and structural challenges, we succeeded in providing better services by working with determination,” he said.
He highlighted that the government focused extensively on the welfare of women, farmers, tribals, youth, and underprivileged communities. In addition, the administration laid strong emphasis on industrial growth and infrastructure development. According to the Chief Minister, industrial projects worth nearly ₹2 lakh crore have been grounded in the last 12 months, potentially creating employment for around one lakh youths.
“Our mission with ‘Vikas Vahan’ is to take the story of development from Bhubaneswar to every village in Odisha,” Majhi stated, adding that the initiative would ensure direct citizen engagement with government schemes.
A special magazine titled Pragati Prabah was also released on the occasion, providing a transparent account of the government’s achievements during its first year in office.
