CM Inaugurates Shabari Bhawan, Sanctions ₹2 Cr for Development

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday inaugurated the Shabari Sanskrutik Bhawan, a dedicated short-stay facility in Bhubaneswar for residents of four tribal-dominated districts—Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri.

The facility, located at IRC Village in the capital city, aims to serve as a cultural and educational hub for tribal communities visiting Bhubaneswar. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced an additional ₹2 crore for the further development of the centre.

“Shabari Sanskrutik Bhawan is more than just a shelter—it is a platform for empowering tribal youth and enhancing their leadership, educational, and cultural development,” said Majhi.

The Bhawan is equipped to host conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and various cultural events. According to the Chief Minister, it will also support tribal residents in accessing essential services like education and healthcare while they are in the city.

Highlighting the state’s commitment to tribal welfare, Majhi said the government has allocated ₹68,881 crore for Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) welfare. He further added that these communities are being actively included in several state-run development schemes.
