CM Hikes SOG Risk Allowance

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has lauded the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha Police for their significant contribution to a joint anti-Maoist operation in Chhattisgarh, where 14 Maoists, including five women, were neutralized.
In recognition of their efforts, the Chief Minister announced a three-fold increase in the risk allowance for SOG personnel, raising it from ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 per month. “The state government has decided to hike the special risk allowance for SOG jawans. Anti-Maoist operations in Odisha will be further intensified in the coming days,” the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated.
The joint operation, conducted by Odisha SOG, Chhattisgarh Police, and CRPF personnel, also led to the elimination of Ramachandra alias Chalapathi, a central committee member of the banned Maoist outfit, according to a statement by Odisha Police.
The move to increase the risk allowance underscores the state government’s commitment to strengthening anti-Maoist efforts and supporting the personnel involved in these high-risk operations.
