CM directs for night meal soon at Aahar Centres
Bhubaneswar, Dec 7 : Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today instructed to start night meal (dinner) facilities at the Aahar centres in a bid to facilitate the night stay of people attending relatives at hospitals in various municipal areas across State.
At presently, there are around 54 Aahar centres near hospitals across Odisha which provides a meal at Rs 5 to the people.
The facility will start from January 1 next year.
At a review of the Aahar scheme implementation at State Secretariat on Thursday, it was decided to seek involvement of public in the noble act, online donation system will also be executed soon.
Anyone can donate money to feed people through Aahar centres on the occasion of any anniversary or celebrations in their family.
The donation will be received online and exempted from tax.
The meeting also decided to set up more such centres in the remaining 32 municipal areas in the State to facilitate over one lakh people across Odisha get subsidized meal daily.
According to official sources, the Chief Minister stressed maintaining hygiene and quality of food at the Aahar centres.
