Citizen Friendly bus service in Bhubaneswar launched
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today flagged off citizen-friendly bus service in the master plan areas of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri under the aegis of Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) on the eve of Diwali here in the city today, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik enjoyed his first ever bus ride to the Assembly and paid homage to Pandit Nilakantha Das on his death anniversary.
In his media reactions, the Chief Minister, “I’m glad to launch MO BUS service today which will able to handle traffic in Bhubaneswar,Cuttack and Puri. I’m also happy that the crew of the buses are passenger-friendly and half of the crew member are women. The buses are also fitted with modern technology like Wi-Fi.”
The buses are fitted with GPS, CCTV and Wi-Fi systems apart from other modern facilities, official sources said.
Yesterday Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Dr Krishan Kumar had informed media that in the Phase 1 i.e. from today (November 6), 100 buses started plying on 9 routes while in the Phase 2, 100 buses are slated to ply on 8 routes from November 15 and in Phase 3, 100 buses will be plying on 8 routes from December 10, official sources said.
