Chewing of Tobacco at Srimandir to Attract Penalty

Puri (Reporters Today Bureau):  In a major developmental meeting of the Chatisha Niyog Committee here today, decided that a fine of Rs 500 will be levied for chewing tobacco inside the temple from April 1.

A meeting of the Chatisa Niyog Committee was held here today under the chairmanship of Dr. Krishan Kumar, Chief Administrator of the Srimandir. In the meantime, it has been decided to dispatch Abadha before the schedule at the Bhogmandap. It has also been decided that the temple will be completely plastic-free from April 1.

The meeting focused on the Neeti and schedule of upcoming Mendhapodi and Dolapurnima festival. In addition, other issues were discussed with the approval of the chairperson of the meeting.

The meeting was attended by District Magistrate Balwant Singh, Superitendent of Police and other dignitaries.
