Centre approves Rs.1,024 cr for cyclone Titli assistance

Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: The Union Government on Monday approved Rs.1,023.59 crore additional assistance from from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for Odisha.
A high-level committee chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh approved this additional assistance for Odisha, many areas of which were severely devastated by cyclonic storm Titli.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had recently called up Union Home Minister urging him to release financial assistance for carrying out repair and restoration work in the areas affected by cyclone ‘Titli’.
Prior to this, he had also written to the Union Minister for early release of this assistance
The Odisha government had submitted a memorandum to the Government of India seeking central assistance of Rs 2023.13 crore against the total of Rs 2779.32 crore for relief and restoration measures.
