CCTV Cameras to Be Installed in All Schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced that CCTV cameras will be installed in all schools across the state, following the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) model.
School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond confirmed this during a public briefing, underscoring the administration’s commitment to protecting girl students and creating safer learning environments.
To ensure institutional accountability and quicker grievance redressal, the government has also instructed the formation of Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) in every school. These committees will investigate cases related to harassment and ensure that school authorities respond promptly and appropriately.
The decision marks a pivotal move in aligning Odisha’s educational infrastructure with national safety standards, aiming to foster trust among parents and provide a safer space for students to thrive.
