Car-Truck Collide in Koraput: 3 Killed

Koraput: In a tragic incident, a man, his wife and their 5-year-old child died as a car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a tanker truck on NH-26 near Pungar village under Pottangi police limits in Koraput district, this morning. Till last reports came in, the identities of the deceased were yet to be established.

According to reports, the road mishap took place at around 6 am when the trio was heading towards Visakhapatnam from Jeypore in the ill-fated vehicle. The three died on the spot under the impact of the collision.

On being informed, Pottangi police reached the place, recovered the bodies for post-mortem and initiated an investigation. Tension ran high at the spot after the accident as irate locals detained the truck driver. Movement of vehicles on the portion of the NH got affected due to the mishap.
