Bus Owners may Lose Permit for not running as per schedule

Bus owners may soon be liable to  lose route permits for their buses and additionally may have to cough up fine if they do not stick to their running schedules. These new rules have been thought out by the Odisha transport Department and may be implemented soon.

As per reports, the Department has made a decision to keep a strict watch on the movement of buses in all major bus stands in the State by installing CCTV cameras.In the first phase,the three major bus stands of Cuttack,Puri and Bhubaneswar will have CCTV cameras fitted in its precincts.In the second phase,the rest of the stands will be covered.The CCTV cameras will keep a watch on the buses and also aid in keeping the travelling public safe from unsocial elements.The new rules will come into force in a month’s time as reported .
