Bus Overturns in NTPC’s Dulanga Mine; One Dead, Several Injured

Sundargarh: In a tragic incident late Sunday night, one person lost his life and over six others sustained critical injuries after a bus carrying more than 30 operators overturned inside the National Thermal Power Corporation’s (NTPC) Dulanga coal mine, located under Hemgir block in Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Nityananda Pradhan, a resident of Pudapali. According to sources, the mishap occurred during a shift change when the bus, transporting the operators, turned turtle within the coal mine premises. The injured were immediately rushed to a hospital in Brajrajnagar for treatment.
Following the accident, coal mine workers have launched a protest, halting operations to demand better safety measures at the workplace.
Further investigations into the cause of the accident are underway.
