Bomb Blast on Bike Kills One, Injures Another in Khordha

Bhubaneswar: A powerful bomb explosion near Biswal Sahi in Shedheiagarh village of Khordha district claimed one life and left another person critically injured in the early hours of Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Nirakar Singh, while the injured, Lulu Senapati, is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar after being transferred from a local hospital due to his critical condition. Both individuals were residents of Shedheiagarh.

According to preliminary reports, the blast occurred while the two men were allegedly transporting a bomb on a motorcycle. The explosive reportedly detonated mid-journey, killing Singh on the spot and severely injuring Senapati. The explosion was so intense that it completely destroyed the two-wheeler.

Police officials rushed to the site upon receiving the alert and have since launched a detailed investigation. A forensic team and bomb disposal squad have been deployed to examine the remnants of the explosive device and determine its source.

Authorities are still probing the origin of the bomb and the possible motive behind its transportation. The incident has sparked panic in the locality, with security tightened in the area.
