Bol Bom Devotee Killed, Several Injured in Keonjhar Road Accident

Bhubaneswar: A Bol Bom devotee was killed and several others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident that occurred on Monday in the Joda area of Keonjhar district, Odisha.

The accident took place on National Highway-520 under the jurisdiction of Champua police station when a speeding truck collided with a pickup van carrying a group of Bol Bom devotees. According to reports, the devotees were travelling from Rourkela to Murga Mahadev Temple in Keonjhar to offer Jalabhisheka on the occasion of Sravan Sombar. They were also on their way to the Maa Tarini Temple in Ghatagaon for darshan when the incident occurred.

Following the collision, the truck driver reportedly fled the scene. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the absconding driver and ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the mishap.

The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination, and the cause of death will be confirmed upon completion of the autopsy. Injured devotees are currently undergoing treatment, and further details are awaited.
