BMC Proposes Rs 290 cr in Supplementary Budget

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) proposed a supplementary budget of Rs 290 crore. The supplementary budget will be presented in the corporation meeting on December 29 for approval.

The civic body called the  BMC mmeting to pass supplementary budget following expenditure of 90 percent from the annual budget by December. BMC mayor Sulochana Das chaired the meeting in presence of finance standing committee chairman Pritinanda Routray and Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange.

A total of Rs 690.20 crore was sanctioned in this year’s annual budget. However, 90 percent of the budget was utilised by December. The civic body spent a major amount in sanitation drive and beautification of the city. Many corporators have opposed the move and said to raise the issue in corporation meeting on December 29.
