BJD supports JD(U) candidate for Rajya Sabha deputy chairman

Adarsh Rout: Yesterday  BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik announced support to NDA-backed JD(U) candidate Harivansh Narayan Singh for the post of Rajya Sabha deputy chairman, the party in a press statement issued today justified its stand citing ideological similarities with JD(U). The election for which is scheduled to be held today.

Answering the media BJD chief Naveen Patnaik said “Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had spoken with me and our party will support the JD (U) candidate for the Rajya Sabha’s deputy chairman election,” political leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah had spoken to him in this regard.
