BJD MPs meet CPI leader seeking support for women reservation initiative
Bhubaneswar, Dec 15: A BJD delegation comprising of Members of Parliament Kalikesh Narayan Singhdeo and Kulamani Samal met CPI’s National Secretary and MP D Raja at New Delhi on Friday and handed him over Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s letter seeking support for his initiative for 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies..
Raja, a BJD spokesman said, responded very positively to this issue and said his party is appreciative of this initiative by Patnaik.
Notably, as decided earlier by BJD President Shri. Naveen Patnaik, delegations from the party are visiting 22 national and regional parties across India to garner support for the initiative.
On Thursday BJD vice president Surjya Narayan Patro, along with MP Tathagat Satapathy had met Union Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal in this regard in New Delhi.
