BJD fields Naba Das’ daughter Dipali as Jharsuguda bypoll candidate

By-election to the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency will be held on May 10 while the result will be declared on May 13, following which BJD makes it’s way by announcing the name of Dipali Das, daughter of late Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, as the party’s candidate for the by-election to Jharsuguda Assembly constituency.

The killing of Naba kishore Das, who was the health minister, in January necessitated the by-election. A police officer was accused of gunning him down. After Padampur, Jharsuguda will be the second seat in western Odisha to face bypoll in quick succession.

As per the sources, Opposition BJP and the Congress are yet to declare their nominees.
