‘Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha’ Scheme Launched

Khordha: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the ‘Bikashita Gaon Bikashita Odisha’ in Khordha. Odisha government has issued a detailed guidelines for this scheme.

These guidelines have been sent to the District Magistrates and the BDOs. Every village has been asked to prepare and send a five-year plan list according to it by February 15th.

The government has allocated Rs 1000 crore in the budget for the scheme in Odisha in 2024-25. This money will be allocated to each panchayat as per the new guidelines. According to the new system, backward or tribal-dominated areas will be given top priority in this scheme. 40 percent of the total funds will be spent only in the blocks under the Integrated Tribal Development Agency.

Out of the total 314 blocks in the state, 121 blocks come under ITDA. The government will give more importance to the development of these areas. A fund of Rs 600 crore will be allocated to the panchayats in the remaining 193 blocks.

Money will be given to build good roads in every village. Block top roads, concrete roads and paver block roads will be built in the villages. Drains will also be built where necessary. However, 35 percent of the total funds received by the panchayat will be spent only on road construction. More money than this cannot be spent on road construction. Metalling standard roads will also be built for people living in reserved forests and forest areas.

Earlier, in the ‘Ama Odisha, Naveen Odisha’ scheme there was restrictions on road construction in forest areas. Now, under this scheme, a reading room will be arranged in every block. Here, the book lover will get internet facility also. It will be open from 9 am to 9 pm. Aspirants preparing for competitive exams can sit and study here comfortably by paying a small fee.

Similarly, money will be allocated for construction of Kalyan Mandap, Community Center, bathing ghat, Changing Room on the pond and river banks, Market Shed in the Panchayat. Bhog Mandap, Bhagwat Tungi will be constructed.

Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Ravi Narayan Nayak, local MLA Prashant Jagdev, Ekamra MLA Babu Singh and District Magistrate Chanchal Rana were present in this program.
