Bhubaneswar’s Iconic ‘Warrior-Horse’ Not To Be Relocated From Master Canteen Square

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): The iconic Warrior-Horse replica sculpture of Sun temple located at the Master Canteen square will not be shifted from the place, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Sanjay Singh today.

A meeting was chaired by the Development Commissioner with the BSCL where It was decided by Bhubaneswar Development Authority and Culture Department officials, that the sculpture will not be relocated from its place for the Smart Janpath project.

Earlier it was decided by the State Government that the statue will be relocated to Raj Bhavan square.

Later questions have been raised by the politicians on the decision.

The Statue was sculpted by late eminent sculptor Padma Vibhushan Raghunath Mohapatra and had erected the sandstone sculpture at Master Canteen square in 1988 by The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).
