Bhubaneswar to get flight services to two new destinations from March 30 Reporters Today

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Capital Bhubaneswar will soon have direct flight services to two more domestic destinations – Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The announcement has been made by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Wednesday through a post on the official X handle. The daily flight services will commence from March 30, under the state government’s New Destination Policy. These services will connect the Odisha capital’s Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) to Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad and Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair. Air India Express will operate the daily flights on these newly added routes, which are expected to significantly enhance tourism, trade, and commerce between Odisha and these destinations.

The connectivity is also poised to spur economic growth in the region. Expressing his appreciation for the new services, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conveyed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting the initiative. “Sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as new flights to Ghaziabad and Port Blair take off shortly under the New Destination Policy — boosting tourism, trade, and seamless connectivity,” the CMO’s post read.
