Bhubaneswar No-Fly Zone Ahead of DGP-IGP Meet, PM Modi Visit
Bhubaneswar: A no-fly zone has been declared in Bhubaneswar from November 29 to December 1 in preparation for the all-India Director General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General of Police (IGP) conference, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
The city will be under a heavy security blanket, with 85 platoons of police, state and central armed forces, and anti-terror units deployed. State and central intelligence agencies will closely monitor the event to ensure safety, according to Police Commissioner S. Devdutt Singh.
Key areas, including the airport, Lok Seva Bhawan, Raj Bhawan, State Guest House, Maitri Vihar, and the IPS Mess at Chandrasekharpur, have been designated no-fly zones due to the presence of PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other dignitaries attending the 59th DGP-IGP Conference.
High-ranking officials, including the Odisha Police DG, BSF DG, NCB DG, and CRPF DG, will participate in the conference. Security measures have been tightened across the city to ensure smooth proceedings.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the arrangements at the Convention Centre and the State Guest House. He also visited the BJP state headquarters, where PM Modi is scheduled to meet party members on November 29.
