Bhartruhari Mahtab Sworn in as Lok Sabha Pro Tem Speaker

Bhubaneswar: BJP member Bhartruhari Mahtab took oath as the Pro-Tem Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha on Monday morning by President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan.

Mahtab, a seven-time MP, will lead a panel of chairpersons in overseeing the Lok Sabha proceedings on June 24 and June 25, as newly elected members of the 18th Lok Sabha take their oath.

Additionally, he will preside over the House on Wednesday for the election of a new Speaker.

Members of the INDIA bloc in the Lok Sabha are scheduled to gather at the Parliament complex on Monday morning and proceed together to the House for the inaugural session of the 18th Lok Sabha.
